These New York Rangers are proving that they don't quit.
After a come-from-behind shootout win over the Atlanta Thrahsers Saturday they did the same thing last night against the Washington Capitals, locking down four vital points.
Tonight, the Rangers conclude another back-to-back series, a category in which they lead the NHL.
Marian Gaborik, who scored the tying goal in regulation last night, seems to be waking up from his season-long slumber. Wojtek Wolski seems to be clicking so well with Derek Stepan and Mats Zuccarello that you would think that they've been playing together for years and the Rangers are competing for 60 minutes a night ... every night.
John Tortorella has the ability to roll four lines and be confident no matter who is on the ice. The Rangers are winning in front of both Martin Biron and Henrik Lundqvist and even giving a handful of kids some nice time with the big club. This includes Evgeny Grachev, who was called up for yesterday's game and might see some time today as well.
The Rangers go into the game tonight against the lowly Florida Panthers, and need to take the two points on the table. A difficult February schedule is looming, and the Rangers need to take what they can from the "lesser" teams in the league.
That's not to say that the Panthers are going to be pushovers, but this is a game that the Rangers should win.
Lundqvist should get the nod, considering that Biron played last night.
Stick here for updates and the final score.
