Marian Gaborik seemed poised to be the hero for the Rangers last night, after his game-tying goal with less than a minute remaining.
The feeling didn't last however, and the Rangers lost just 19 seconds into overtime.
Tonight the Rangers will look to have a "bounce back" win against the Florida Panthers. With Henrik Lundqvist getting the nod last night, the expectation is that Martin Biron will get a start in the near future (if not tonight). Again, it's just speculation.
The Rangers will need much more offense than they had last night if they want a real chance at winning. Although the Rangers ran into a hot goaltender, they still missed tons of chances.
Matts Zuccarello is still with the Rangers, a good sign for the younger who is trying to make an impact in the NHL. John Tortorella has bounced line-mates around pretty frequently, but it does seem like Derek Stepan has been a viable option as partner with Gaborik. Even so, Zuccarello didn't look bad on that line either.
The Rangers will be looking to improve their record to 23-14-3 in their (seemingly) never-ending quest to try and gain ground on the Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Although the Rangers are just six points out of first place int he Atlantic.
