The New York Rangers are coming off an impressive 1-0 victory over the NHL leading Vancouver Canucks. Everything went right in that game. Henrik Lundqvist shut out the hottest team in the league, and earned his 6th shutout of the season. Wojtek Wolski opened his Rangers goal account, and he did it on the power play. Oh, it was also the game winner. The defense looked good, and Brandon Prust, Brian Boyle and Ruslan Fedotenko were monsters against the Sedin twins.
Now the Rangers turn their eyes to the Montreal Canadiens, who defeated the Rangers at MSG on a poor goal.
The Rangers probably want to give the Canadiens a taste of their own medicine, and they seem poised to do that. Against Vancouver, Wolski, Gaborik and Derek Stepan formed a line that was flying all night. They were the best guys on the ice most of the night, and cashed in the game's only goal.
The Rangers will be looking to go 11 games over .500 tonight with a win, giving them a 27-16-3 record. Expect Martin Biron to get the nod tonight, just from what I've been reading around the web.
Make sure to bring it back here after the game for the recap.
