It's here. Finally!
After 34 bowl games and a month worth of hype, the BCS National Championship game, between the No. 1-ranked Auburn Tigers and No. 2 Oregon Ducks, will be played tonight in Glendale, AZ. at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
To be honest, as much as I hate what the BCS stands for, I am excited about tonight's matchup, which features arguably the two best teams in the nation -- unfortunately, again, the BCS got it right.
However, us "experts" here at SB Nation New York are not nearly educated enough to pick a winner.
So, instead of trying to act like we know what we're talking about -- something we actually do very well around here -- we decided to take it to the polls and let the readers decide.
(Read on for helpful game notes.)
Need a little help?
Well, here are some things you may want to know about each team.
Auburn has Heisman Trophy winner, quarterback Cam Newton. Oregon has Heisman Trophy finalist, runningback LaMichael James.
The Tigers earned it's bid by grinding through the Southeast Conference. The Ducks basically steamrolled through the PAC 10.
Auburn has the coolest tradition of yelling, "WAR EAGLE!" in pregame ceremonies and before every home-team kickoff. Oregon has these two songs -- "I Love My Ducks" and "Return Of The Quack".
Ducks can fly, while Tigers eat Ducks.
So, SB Nation New York faithful. Who you got?
