- If you're feeling a little full this morning, it might be because there was pie in the Bronx Wednesday night. Nick Swisher's walkoff two-run home run gave the New York Yankees a 3-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, allowing the Yankees to avoid the indignity of being swept by the lowly Orioles. ↵
- The New York Mets played, and defeated the Washington Nationals, 3-2. Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey earned his 10th victory of the season. Yawn. ↵
- Kenny Phillips' gain with the New York Giants is Deon Grant's loss. The third-year safety, on the comeback trail from microfracture knee surgery, has been moved into the starting lineup in place of the veteran Grant. ↵
- Roger Federer and Caroline Wozniacki advanced in U.S. Open play Wednesday. Wozniacki has become a favorite of the New York crowds. ↵
