Is a re-imagining of seven up with 17 to go happening to the Bronx Bombers? After another loss to the Red Sox on Saturday, their lead over Boston is down to 5 1/2 games in the Wild Card, with seven to go, but four of those games are against the BoSox. David Ortiz went 2 for 4 with two RBI, while JD Drew and Victor Martinez hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning off of Chad Gaudin to seal the deal. Curtis Granderson and A-Rod went yard for New York. John Lester threw seven innings of two-hit ball to get his 19th win, while Ivan Nova struggled in the loss. Pinstripe Alley has more.
