NFL Power Rankings, Week 3: Jets Up, Giants Down

SBNation.com has released its weekly NFL Power Rankings. As you might expect, much better news for the New York Jets than the New York Giants.

The Jets are ranked sixth overall, moving up one spot after defeating the New England Patriots, 28-14. Here is SBNation.com's comment:

The Jets looked for real against the Patriots on Sunday winning their first division game. They'll get another crack at a division opponent on Sunday night against the Dolphins.

My take: Jets fans have to feel much better after the solid effort against New England.

The Giants fall from 16th to 19th in this week's rankings after being shellacked by Indianapolis, 38-14. Here is the reasoning:

We're not going to be too tough on any team that loses to the Colts because they're the regular season champs but Eli and Co. didn't look sharp last Sunday night. With the Cowboys not a clear-cut NFC East division winner, the Giants can make some noise.

My take: The dot.com folks were pretty nice to the Giants with that comment. Between Antrel Rolle's comments and Brandon Jacobs issues there is a lot going on with the Giants, and the season has the potential to go either way.
