Morning Coffee! Jets Up, Giants Down

Good morning, New York sports fans. Although whether it is a good Monday or a bad one depends on which teams you root for.

  • If you root for the New York Jets it is a great morning. The Jets found some offense and overcame the loss of Darrelle Revis to beat New England, 28-14. The victory capped a contentious week filled with criticism from Jet icon Joe Namath, and lots of trash talk between the two teams. See Gang Green Nation for more analysis.

  • If you root for the New York Giants, you might feel like staying in bed this morning. The Giants were awful in a 38-14 loss to Indianapolis Sunday night. If you watched the game and found anything the Giants did well please tell me. See Big Blue View to share in the misery.

  • If you root for the Yankees, you thought it was going to be a great day -- until the ninth inning. That's when Baltimore's Luke Scott homered against Mariano Rivera to tie the game, which the Orioles eventually won in 11 innings, 4-3. That wrecked a terrific return from the disabled list by Andy Pettitte, who allowed just one run in six solid innings. See Pinstripe Alley for more.

  • If you root for the New York Mets, well, there isn't much to feel good about anyway, except that the season is almost over. Sunday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta didn't help. See Amazin' Avenue to talk Mets.
