Braves 6, Mets 3: Lee's Slam Carries Braves

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Derrek Lee shattered a tie game in the seventh with a two-out grand slam off Manny Acosta, and Atlanta put the wraps on a three-game road sweep of the Mets in a 6-3 final.

Alex Gonzalez delivered a pair of clutch RBI singles and Derek Lowe (14-12) worked effectively through six innings, allowing only four hits -- one a two- run homer from David Wright -- for his third straight win. Craig Kimbrel earned his first career save with a scoreless ninth.

The Braves pulled off their second visiting sweep of the season to kick off a crucial nine-game road trip. Next up are the NL East-leading Phillies, whom the Braves trail by 2 1/2 games with Philadelphia and Washington still in action Sunday.

Atlanta increased its lead in the wild card to 2 1/2 games over San Francisco, which is in action this afternoon at home against Milwaukee.

R.A. Dickey (11-7) lasted into the seventh inning for New York, but was pulled after allowing consecutive base hits to start what was the decisive inning for Atlanta.

Dickey was charged with four runs on 10 hits in the loss, dropping him to 7-2 in 10 starts at Citi Field this season. Wright's home run tied him with Mike Piazza for second place in club history with 655 career RBI. New York ended a 10-game homestand at 5-5.
