  • CC Sabathia is the first major league pitcher to reach 20 victories in the 2010 season. CC threw seven innings, gave up three runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Sabathia is now 20-6 on the campaign, and continues to make his case for an AL Cy Young bid. The Bombers got to O's starter Jeremy Guthrie, as he let up six runs on seven hits in five innings. Robinson Cano's two-run bomb in the fifth when it was 4-2 put this game out of reach. Curtis Granderson also went yard for New York, and Derek Jeter had two hits and two RBI. The Rays defeated the Angels 4-3 out in Anaheim, so they remain 1/2 game behind New York for the Eastern Division lead. Pinstripe Alley will recap.

  • We've joked about the pointlessness of recapping a Met game the rest of the way, but it should be noted that with yesterday's 4-2 loss to the Braves, they will miss the postseason for a fourth consecutive year, after being a bona fide Wild Card contender just two months ago. Amazin' Avenue with more.

  • In a real surprise out in Philly, Temple defeated the UConn team that replaced them in the Big East six years ago, 30-16. The UConn Blog recaps.
