Are You Kidding Me, Clinton Portis?

[Note by Ed Valentine, 09/14/10 2:41 PM EDT: NFL's @GregAiello on Clinton Portis: "(His) comments are clearly inappropriate, offensive, and have no place in the NFL." ... Or in society. ]

I can't believe Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis was stupid enough to say this.

"You put a woman and you give her a choice of 53 athletes, somebody got to be appealing to her," Portis said in an interview on The Mike Wise radio show in Washington, D.C. "You know, somebody got to spark her interest, or she's gonna want somebody. I don't know what kind of woman won't, if you get to go and look at 53 men's packages. And you're just sitting here, saying 'Oh, none of this is attractive to me.'

Portis, of course, was speaking about Ines Sainz and the mess with the Jets treatment of her during a recent practice.

What was Portis thinking? Even if that's what he really believes it's just not something that should be said.

Men and women have to work together in the locker room and on-field environment, that's just how it is. Grow up and be professional, guys.
