Phillies 3, Mets 0: Oswalt Pitches Shutout

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Roy Oswalt tossed his first complete-game shutout in a Phillies uniform, as Philadelphia handled the New York Mets, 3-0, in the rubber match of a three-game series at Citi Field.

Oswalt (12-13), who came to Philadelphia from Houston in late July, gave up just four hits to win his sixth straight decision. The right-hander also struck out six and walked one. It was the second time he went the distance while blanking an opponent this year, after shutting down the Pirates on July 8.

Raul Ibanez hit a solo homer for the Phillies, who got an RBI apiece from Chase Utley and Ryan Howard.

Philadelphia, which has won five of six, sits a half-game ahead of the Braves in the NL East standings. Atlanta plays against the Cardinals later Sunday.
