The New York Giants, undecided about their backup quarterback situation with Jim Sorgi on injured reserve, are apparently one of three teams that has inquired about the availability of Arizona’s Matt Leinart.
The Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders are also reportedly interested. Pro Football Talk says the Giants make the most sense.
Leinart fits the David Carr profile of a first-round quarterback on the rebound that could provide a solid backup behind Eli Manning.
Agreed that he fits the Carr profile. I’m wondering about the Bills, though, where Leinart might have a chance to unseat Trent Edwards as the starter.
