They traded outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the Texas Rangers Tuesday, and announced that prized prospect Jennry Mejia will be called up from AAA to start Saturday. By the way, the Mets got hammered by the Braves for the second straight day, this time be a 9-2 score.

  • While the Mets surrendering, the New York Yankees were pounding the Oakland Athletics, 9-3, and moving into sole possession of first place in the American League East.

  • For both the New York Giants and New York Jets, Tuesday seemed to be all about the backup quarterbacks. For the Jets, Kellen Clemens agreed to a pay cut to stick around as the No. 3 guy. For the Giants, Jim Sorgi landed on injured reserve, meaning a great opportunity just landed in Rhett Bomar's lap
