Despite Being Cut And Mulling Retirement, Coles Could Actually Be Re-Signed By Jets This Year

On Sunday, the New York Jets cut veteran wide receiver Laveranues Coles. On Monday, head coach Rex Ryan commended Coles, and also hinted that his days with the team may not in fact be over just permanently.

The Jets are not ruling out a fourth stint with the receiver, however. Head coach Rex Ryan said there’s a strong possibility that they may bring him back after Week 1. The move is likely due to financial reasons. Coles was set to make $855,000 guaranteed if he were to make the opening day roster. If he were to be brought back after Week 1, the money is not guaranteed.
