- The New York Mets got pounded by the Florida Marlins Thursday night, 11-4. To make matters worse, star shortstop Jose Reyes left the game with an injury. - The New York Yankees are in Chicago to face the White Sox this weekend. That means Yankee Manager Joe Girardi will face lots of questions about the possibility he could leave the Yankees to manage the crosstown Cubs next season. ↵
- The New York Jets are hosting the Washington Redskins in an NFL preseason game tonight at Meadowlands Stadium. ↵
- The New York Giants play in Baltimore Saturday night. Biggest question for the nicked-up Giants is whether or not they have enough players to get through the game. ↵
- The clock is now ticking on Ilya Kovalchuk's chances of playing in the NHL this season. Devils fans would obviously like him to sign with their team. All I want is for this never-ending story to reach a conclusion. ↵
- The New York Liberty opened the WNBA playoffs by defeating the Indiana Fever, 85-73. Cappie Pondexter had 28 points. ↵
