Giants @ Ravens: Eli 'Excited' About Playing

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will play Saturday in a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, and said Monday he is "excited" about that.

Manning, of course, missed last weekend's preseason game against Pittsburgh after needing 12 stitches to close a cut in his head incurred during the preseason opener with the New York Jets.

Both Manning and Brandon Jacobs returned to practice Monday for the Giants.

"It's good that everybody is getting back healthy. It's just something that happens at training camp. You get a few guys banged up, and if it's time to get everybody back, this is kind of the time you want everybody back when you're getting close to the start of the season," Manning said. "We've got a long week, a full week between games. So I'm looking forward to a great week of practice and getting everybody kind of back healthy, back into sync of what we're doing."

  • Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News has the rest of the injury news for the Giants, including the fact that Ramses Barden has a stress fracture in his back and Aaron Ross has plantar fasciitis. Neither are likely to practice this week.
