New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez underwent surgery on his right thumb his agent Paul Kinzer confirmed Tuesday evening.
Rodriguez, of course, injured the thumb during an “alleged” post-game run-in with his father-in-law last week in which he’s facing third degree assault charges.
Rodriguez will not return to the Mets this season, and if reports are correct, may never return.
