Good morning, New York sports fans. Here is your first look around the New York sports scene today.

- If you didn't know the New York Giants and New York Jets met Monday night in a preseason game, you aren't really a New York sports fan. Undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver Victor Cruz was the star, catching three touchdown passes as the Giants won, 31-16. Eli Manning of the Giants ended up with 12 stitches after losing his helmet and getting bashed in the face. ESPN cameras also caught some pushing and shoving in the stands as Jets and Giants fans battled for their turf in the first game at New Meadowlands Stadium. ↵
- The Yankees can't score. A day after a 1-0 shutout loss to Kansas City, the Yankees lost to Detroit 1-0. The only run they got came on a bases-loaded walk. Oh, and both Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher left the game with injuries. ↵
- The Mets won, 3-1. I'm not so sure it's even important to mention Mets' game results any more this season. The only interesting thing left, really, is to see if the Mets can get out of Francisco Rodriguez's contract. Oh, and maybe to see if Jerry Manuel makes it to the end of the season with his job. ↵
- Let the Carmelo Anthony speculation begin. It is looking like the star forward will leave the Denver Nuggets following the upcoming season. ↵
