Francisco Rodriguez, the New York Mets relief pitcher, has reportedly sustained a torn ligament in his thumb.
Rodriguez isn’t with the team and surgery “is recommended” meaning that this could lead to problems down the road.
Oh, how did it happen?
ESPN’s Adam Rubin tweeted that a team official told him “K-Rod injured thumb with punch.”
Assuming “with punch” is in relation to Rodriguez’ issues last week, this situation couldn’t have gone much worse for the closer.
