Francisco Rodriguez Charged With Assault After Fighting Father-In-Law

New York Mets relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez, better known as K-Rod, was taken into police custody Wednesday night after getting into a physical altercation with his father-in-law at Citi Field.

Eric Simon of SB Nation's Amazin Avenue has the full lowdown, including an official statement from the team.

"There was an incident between Francisco Rodriguez and his family tonight at the ballpark. He was questioned by police and all other questions pertaining to this incident will be referred to the police department."

Ken Davidoff, Newsday's Mets beat writer, reports via Twitter that Rodriguez will be chaged with "third-degree assault" in relation to the incident.
