Good morning, New York sports fans. Here is your first look at what is happening in the sports world around the city that never sleeps.

  • Well, Yankee Stadium has hosted an officially sanctioned professional boxing match. And now Fight Night has come to Citi Field, as well. Francisco Rodriguez was arrested Wednesday night following a fight at the ballpark with his father-in-law. K-Rod is a terrific pitcher, but maybe not a terrific guy. Yahoo! Sports looks at Rodriguez' confrontational history. Please, no more comparisons of K-Rod to Mariano Rivera, on or off the field. See Amazin' Avenue for more.

  • Speaking of Rivera, while the Mets were getting beaten by Colorado and K-Rod was allegedly doing some beating of his own, the greatest reliever of all time pulled off a great escape Wednesday night. Summoned to protect a 7-6 lead against Texas, Rivera surrendered a leadoff triple. He proceeded to leave Elvis Andrus stranded at third as the Yankees won, rallying from a 6-1 deficit. See Pinstripe Alley for more.

  • HBO's 'Hard Knocks', featuring the New York Jets debuted Wednesday night. Fortunately, I don't have HBO so I wasn't tempted to waste a portion of my life on the show. Our Steve LePore has a review.

  • The New York Red Bulls defeated Toronto FC, 1-0, Wednesday night. Want to see the Red Bulls play the LA Galaxy Saturday at Red Bull Arena? You can forget it, unless you already have tickets. The game is sold out.
