Ryan McDonagh has made his decision final, he is going pro. Although there was some speculation that he wanted to remain at Wisconsin, he has official signed a deal with the New York Rangers.
↵ ↵↵↵The Rangers have officially signed touted prospect Ryan McDonagh out of the University of Wisconsin. McDonagh, a physical defensive defenseman, was acquired as a part of the Scott Gomez trade in June, 2009. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but expect something along the lines of the Derek Stepan deal.

In my opinion, this is the final straw when it comes to Wade Redden remaining a New York Ranger. Expect McDonagh to make a serious run at the team in camp, because the coaching staff has speculated that the defensive spot on the team was "his to lose."
