Laveranues Coles Signs One-Year Contract To Return To Jets

The New York Jets continue to stockpile assets this offseason, this time in the form of veteran wide receiver Laveranues Coles. Coles signed a one-year contract on Friday to return to the New York Jets after a year hiatus in Cincinnati.

However, Coles isn’t convinced that he’ll even last the whole season in New York. Instead, he thinks it’s a distinct possibility that he’ll be released after Santonio Holmes returns from his four game suspension to start the year.

"It’s an insurance policy for them," Coles said. "Those first four games are very important for the team to get where they want to go. It’s an opportunity for me to come in and see what I can still do, but there’s a slim chance I’ll be there after four games. There’s a good chance I’ll get released; it depends on how things go. They were honest and open about it. It is what it is."

He may be right. Only time will tell though. Stay tuned here and at Gang Green Nation for more camp updates as they materialize
