Good morning, New York sports fans. Here is your first look at today's local sports scene.

- Wednesday was a tough night for the New York Mets. They watched Johan Santana surrender six first-inning runs, fought back to tie the game, then lost, 8-7, in 13 innings. Not fun. See Amazin' Avenue for more. ↵
- A relaxing night for the Yankees, who cruised past Cleveland, 8-0. Except for Alex Rodriguez, that is. A-Rod got two hits, but not the one everyone is waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting for. Home run No. 600. YES showed a graphic last night that Rodriguez has now gone longer between home run Nos. 599 and 600 than any of the six other players who have reached that mark. See Pinstripe Alley. ↵
- Love the Mark Brunell signing by the New York Jets. No idea how much Brunell, who will turn 40 this season, has left, but he will be a great resource for Mark Sanchez. I am actually still surprised that the New York Giants signed Jim Sorgi to back up eli Manning rather Brunell, who was Tom Coughlin's starting quarterback during his glory years in Jacksonville. ↵
