Umpire Phil Cuzzi has been spoken to by Major League Baseball but not disciplined for his actions in the 9th inning Monday night during the Mets-Giants game.
Cuzzi’s blown call was one thing, but taking off his mask and shouting at Francisco Rodriguez is another. Umpires should never seek confrontations, nor prolong them with their own behavior. The game is not about them.
