Report: Nets ink Johan Petro

According to Adrian Wojnaroski of Yahoo! Sports, whose Twitter feed I officially link to every single day of my life and whose name I now know how to spell, the New Jersey Nets have signed career backup Johan Petro to a three-year, $10 million deal.
It’s not that Johan Petro, a 7-footer from France, has done nothing in his five years since being drafted by the Seattle Supersonics. It’s just he’s never played any form of minutes that would merit paying him more than the league minimum. Since his rookie year, when he started 41 games and played a career high 18.9 minutes per game, he’s been a benchwarmer for Seattle, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and these past two years, the Denver Nuggets. Maybe the Nets see him as a suitable backup for Brook Lopez.
