Alex Rodriguez Is Confused ... But He Can Still Hit

Here is a sure sign New York Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez is getting older -- confusion.

From LoHud's Chad Jennings, check out A-Rod after Thursday's game, in which his eighth-inning home run propelled the Yankees to a 4-2 victory.

When he hit a two-run home run, he was sure it was a walk off.

“I thought I hit a much bigger home run than I actually did,” Rodriguez said. “I hit it and I looked at A.J. and Pettitte, and they weren’t jumping over the railing. At that point I felt like we probably had one half inning to play. It was pretty embarrassing.”

Making the whole thing even funnier, when someone asked about the importance of bouncing back with a win, Rodriguez got his days of the week mixed up.

“We ran into a wave of great pitching on Friday and Saturday,” he said. Then he paused. “Friday and Saturday, right? The last two nights.”

Most likely, Yankee fans don't care what day -- or inning -- Rodriguez thought it was. He delivered, so as long as he remembers how to get to home plate and do that no Yankee fan should really care what else he forgets.
