Morning Coffee: Wait, They Can't Actually Sign Anyone Yet? Oh, Come On ...

Now, there'll be tons of good coverage here at SB Nation New York of the Lebronathon (in fact, a little post titled just that is right here) but I was under the impression, before tonight, that the race to sign him totally began today.  Then, later on, I find out that nothing can actually get done until next week?  That's lame, NBA.  Anyway, keep following SB Nation New York for more on LeBron, DWade and the rest as the "talking" period begins.

  • The Mets finally figured out Puerto Rico.  A Jason Bay RBI single in the 8th was the game winner as the Mets beat Florida in San Juan, 6-5.  Elmer Dessens pitched to one batter in relief of Mike Pelfrey in the 5th and got the win.

  • Division!  Watch!  '10! Boston loses to Tampa, which keeps the Sox 1 game back and puts the Rays 2 games back.  For the Mets, the Braves beat the Nats so they remain 1.5 behind Atlanta.  The win, along with St. Louis, Philadelphia's losses and Los Angeles' win, puts them 1 game ahead of all three teams for the Wild Card.
