- The NHL's free agent signing period actually does begin today. Stay tuned this afternoon for all your Devils, Rangers and Islanders news, including what will happen to Ilya Kovalchuk and Paul Martin, and whether or not the Rangers will make a trade. ↵
- The Yankees had a pitcher go a full nine innings and then beat them for the second straight night. After Cliff Lee gave up four runs (three earned) last night, Felix Hernandez tossed a complete game shutout to stop the Bombers 7-0. ↵
- The Mets finally figured out Puerto Rico. A Jason Bay RBI single in the 8th was the game winner as the Mets beat Florida in San Juan, 6-5. Elmer Dessens pitched to one batter in relief of Mike Pelfrey in the 5th and got the win. ↵
- Division! Watch! '10! Boston loses to Tampa, which keeps the Sox 1 game back and puts the Rays 2 games back. For the Mets, the Braves beat the Nats so they remain 1.5 behind Atlanta. The win, along with St. Louis, Philadelphia's losses and Los Angeles' win, puts them 1 game ahead of all three teams for the Wild Card. ↵
