New York Giants’ defensive end Osi Umenyiora said a lot of rash things earlier this season — among them that he would retire if he was not a starter in 2010.
Well, in recent weeks Osi has been backtracking from a lot of the words that came out of his mouth. Now, he is distancing himself from a recent blog post in which he advised Cleveland superstar LeBron James not to come to New York as a free agent.
“Oh man, I should have never had said that,” Umenyiora told ESPN 1050 when asked about his advice to James. “That was a big mistake. I want LeBron James to do what is best for him.”
Nice to see Umenyiora realizing he has said quite a few things this off-season that he probably should have kept to himself. All of this will be forgotten, though, is Osi returns to Pro Bowl form.
