Pelfrey Earns 10th Victory

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) – David Wright went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, two RBI and two runs scored as the New York Mets took a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Twins in the opener of a three-game interleague set.

Jose Reyes went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, while Jason Bay added an RBI for the Mets, who have won three of four. Mike Pelfrey (10-2) worked six innings in the win as he gave up just two runs on six hits with two strikeouts.

Denard Span hit a solo home run and drove in the other for the Twins, who have lost four straight for the first time this season. Kevin Slowey (7-5) was tagged for five runs on six hits with two strikeouts over six innings.
