Flushing, NY (Sports Network) – Magglio Ordonez clubbed a two-run homer and Ryan Raburn added a solo blast, as the Detroit Tigers fended off the New York Mets, 6-5, in the finale of a three-game interleague series at Citi Field.
Raburn finished 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored for the Tigers, who avoided getting swept. Armando Galarraga (3-1) gave up four runs on five hits and walked three over six innings to record his first win since his infamous near-perfect game on June 2 against Cleveland.
David Wright stroked an RBI double for New York, while starter Hisanori Takahashi (6-3) yielded six runs on eight hits and four walks in four-plus innings.
The Mets fell to 11-4 against the American League this season.
