The New York Yankees west coast road trip got off to a rocky start on Monday, as the Arizona Diamondbacks thrashed the Yankees 10-4 behind four homeruns off the struggling A.J. Burnett.
Burnett (6-6) gave up seven runs and nine hits in four innings with no strikeouts and two walks and has now allowed 23 runs (nine home runs) in 20 innings in his past four starts - all losses. The good news is that this is baseball. There's always tomorrow. And for at least another day, the Yankees retained possession of first place in the AL East.
