Sabathia And Teixeira Star In Victory

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) – CC Sabathia turned in eight strong innings and Mark Teixeira’s grand slam paved the way for the Yankees’ 4-0 win over the Mets in the finale of the Subway Series from Yankee Stadium.

Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada each collected two hits for the Yankees, who took two of three in the set.

Sabathia (8-3) allowed just four hits with no runs, fanning six and issuing a pair of walks.

Angel Pagan, David Wright, Ike Davis and Ruben Tejada posted the only hits for the Mets, who have lost two in a row after winning eight straight.

Johan Santana (5-4) was charged in the loss for eight hits and four runs over six full frames, striking out three with one walk.
