New Jersey Nets At Atlanta Hawks: The Strive To Avoid Five

The New Jersey Nets will try to prevent a fifth straight loss Tuesday night at Philips Arena when they take on the hot Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta has won 6 of their last 7 including an impressive 80-74 victory over the Orlando Magic on the road.  Josh Smith paced the Hawks with 19 points and 13 rebounds against the Magic while Al Horford added 16.

The Nets had no luck breaking out of their losing streak Sunday night when they were blown out by the Boston Celtics in Newark 100-75.  Jordan Farmar continued to play the best basketball of his early Nets career with 16 points, but the nets couldn't avoid their sixth loss in seven games.

Atlanta will be without Joe Johnson, who will miss another three weeks following elbow surgery last week.  The Hawks have gone 3-1 while playing without their All-Star.

New Jersey recalled Terrence Williams from the D-League, but he will not be available Tuesday night.  The swingman isn't expected to rejoin the team until Thursday night in Dallas.

The Nets have dropped the last three in Atlanta, but took out the Hawks in Newark on Nov. 23.
