For the third consecutive week, the Syracuse Orange are ranked No. 5 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, which were released Monday afternoon. For the second straight week, both polls have five Big East teams ranked in the Top 10.
The Connecticut Huskies (10-0) are No. 4 in both polls, and the Pittsburgh Panthers (12-1) are No. 6, Villanova Wildcats (10-1) are No. 8, Georgetown Hoyas (11-1) are No. 9 in both polls.
Also in both polls, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-1) are No. 15. The Louisville Cardinals (10-1) are ranked No. 22 in the AP Poll and 20 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll.
Last week, Syracuse dominated both the Morgan St. Bears, 97-55, and the Drexel Dragons, 93-65, to finish its non-conference schedule undefeated for the second straight season.
The Duke Blue Devils (11-0) are the No. 1 team in the country according to both polls, followed by the Ohio St. Buckeyes and Kansas Jayhawks.
