SB Nation NY Top 5: Sports Stories Of The Year

New, 16 comments

Here at SB Nation New York we spent some time prior to Christmas trying to put together a list of the Top 5 New York Sports Stories of 2010. In all honesty, we found that to be an impossible task. So, we are turning that job over to you.

Vote in the poll for what you think is the top story of the year in New York. Unfortunately, you can only vote for one choice. Feel free, though, to drop a comment with your personal top five.

How high do you put George Steinbrenner's death on the list? Does it belong there at all? Is LeBron James' rejection of the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets actually the biggest story of the year? How about Cliff Lee's rejection of the New York Yankees?

How high would you put soccer superstar Thierry Henry's decision to come to America and join the New York Red Bulls of the MLS?

What about the New York Mets finally ousting the Omar Minaya/Jerry Manuel tandem in favor of GM Sandy Alderson and manager Terry Collins?

The New York Jets? Are all of their off-the-field foibles a bigger story than their on-the-field accomplishments?

How about the resurgence of the New York Knicks, led by free-agent star Amare Stoudemire? The purchase of the New Jersey Nets by Mikhail Prokhorov?
