A couple of quick New York Yankees notes for you.
- Forget those Manny Ramirez rumors. Buster Olney tweeted Sunday that the Yankees have "no interest" in signing the enigmatic, aging slugger. Hooray for that! I wanted nothing to do with Ramirez, who plays when he feels like playing -- and isn't as good as he used to be, anyway. Thank goodness Brian Cashman and the Yankee braintrust agrees.
- Another starting pitching option is off the market as right-hander Brandon Webb has signed a one-year deal with the Texas Rangers. The Yankees apparently did not have much interest in the former Cy Young Award winner, anyway. Shoulder problems have limited Webb, 31, to one start in the past two seasons.
- One pitcher the Yankees reportedly do have interest in is free-agent left-hander Jeff Francis, and the 29-year-old appears to be in no hurry to choose a team to pitch for in 2011.
