New Jersey Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Teams Headed In Opposite Directions Meet In Newark

The New Jersey Nets will look to put an end to their seven-game losing streak Tuesday night when they host the Philadelphia 76ers. While the Nets haven't won since November 28th, the Sixers have won five of their last seven, including an 88-70 win over the New Orleans Hornets.

Against the Hornets the Sixers were led by Lou Williams off the bench with 17 points. Andre Iguodala (16-10) and Elton Brand (15-13) each contributed a double-double to help take down the struggling Hornets who have dropped seven of ten.

The Nets, meanwhile, hung tough until the final minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers before falling 99-92 at the Prudential Center.  Brook Lopez led the home team with 25 points, while Devin Harris added 16 points and 10 assists for his third double-double of the season.

Rookie Damion James missed the game after breaking his foot. He had surgery this week to have a screw inserted in the foot and will miss 6-8 weeks.

These two teams last met on November 27th when the Sixers used a 36-20 fourth quarter to fly by the Nets, 102-86.

The Nets have lost seven of their last 11 meetings with Philadelphia, including five straight.

Next up for New Jersey is a visit from John Wall and the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
