The New Jersey Nets are hoping to carry over some momentum from their Sunday night victory over the Portland Trailblazers to a busy week of games.
Avery Johnson and the Nets kick things off Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden with their first meeting against the New York Knicks. The Knicks are 9-9 but have won six of their last seven, including a thrilling 125-116 OT win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
New Jersey doesn't get any rest after playing in the city that never sleeps because Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder come to the Prudential Center Wednesday night. The 11-6 Thunder are also on a hot streak, having taken six of their last eight. They closed out their week with a 99-98 win in Houston against the Rockets.
Following a day off, the Nets will head down the coast to take on Larry Brown's Charlotte Bobcats looking to avenge an 85-83 loss earlier this month in Newark. The Bobcats have yet to get on track this season with a record of 6-11, they have gone just 2-4 over their last 6 games.
After getting another day of rest, New Jersey will come back home on Sunday for an afternoon game against the Boston Celtics. The Nets were taken down by the Celtics just last week 89-83 thanks to a dominating performance from Shaquille O'Neal.
The Nets continue to be led by their two captains, Brook Lopez and Devin Harris. Both players are averaging a healthy 18.2 points per game and seem to have rebounded from their lackluster West coast trip.
Here is a look at the rest of the Nets stats.
