Big East Bowl Projections: It's Unanimous, Projections Have Syracuse In New Era Pinstripe Bowl

For the first time, it's unanimous.

The Syracuse Orange are projected to play in the Pinstripe New Era Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 30 by five websites.

ESPN.com Big East Blogger Brian BennettScout.comRivals.comNBC Sports and CBSSports.com all think that SU will travel to the Bronx for its first bowl game since 2004.

Scout.com, CBSSports.com, Rivals.com and NBC Sports believe that that SU will play Kansas State (7-5, 3-5 Big 12).

The same four websites have Connecticut earning the conference's BCS bowl bid and playing Virginia Tech (10-2, 8-0 ACC) in the Orange Bowl in Miami, FL on Jan. 3 (8 p.m. on ESPN).

"We were one of the few to have the Huskies (7-4) slotted to win the Big East last week," NBC Sports wrote. "Now, everybody’s on the rickety bandwagon of this team that got beat up by Michigan (30-10), Temple (30-16) and Louisville (26-0). The big difference this week is that losses by LSU and Boise State have elevated Stanford into position to be an automatic "at-large" selection. Bowl organizers were hoping to match the Hokies (10-2) against LSU. Now they’re left to choose from either the Cardinal, who have trouble drawing people to their home games, and the four-loss Huskies. Geography and money win out as they always do."

Bennett projects that West Virginia, No. 23 in the AP and No. 24 in the USA Today polls, will win the league and it's BCS bid.
