NFL Power Rankings, Week 12: Jets Riding High, Giants Falling

When the Week 12 NFL Power Rankings are released Tuesday from a variety of sources around the Inter-Google, the New York Giants are going to need a telescope to find the top section of the rankings. The New York Jets, meanwhile, should remain nestled snugly among the league's top four teams, if not a little higher.

The Giants were 10th last week after being upset by Dallas, and after Sunday's 27-17 loss to Philadelphia the Giants will justifiably tumble somewhere into the middle of the pack. They are out of the NFC playoff picture right now, and should be out of mind in any current discussion of the best teams in the league.

The Jets, meanwhile, have to be right in that discussion. At 8-2, they are tied with the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons for the best record in the league. Toss in the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Eagles and Green Bay Packers and there are -- right now -- your best teams in the NFL.

We will just have to wait and see what order voters across the Inter-Google put them in. Right now, though, the Jets belong near the top and the Giants clearly do not.
