The Devils' defensive corps managed to get even thinner.
Already missing Bryce Salvador and Anton Volchenkov to injuries, news came out today that rookie defenseman Matt Corrente will also sit out. The young defenseman broke his left hand in a fight with San Jose Sharks winger Ryan Clowe last night.
The Devils called up defenseman Tyler Eckford from Albany (AHL) to replace him. The team also added forward Alexander Vasyunov to the roster from its minor-league team upstate.
