The Rutgers Scarlet Knights fell to the Louisville Cardinals by a final score of 78-66 today, dropping their record to 12-12 overall and 4-7 in Conference play. Rutgers are now tied for tenth place in the Big East standings behind Syracuse, Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame, Louisville, South Florida, Cincinnati, Connecticut and West Virginia. With only seven games remaining in the regular season, the Scarlet Knights need to add some impressive wins to their resume, and quick.
Rutgers was paced by Eli Carter, who scored a game-high 24 points on 17 shots. He also added six rebounds and three assists.
The Scarlet Knights were out-rebounded by a final tally of 40 to 22 and allowed the Cardinals to shoot 49 percent from the floor. Rutgers next game is scheduled or February 8 when they host the Seton Hall Pirates.
