Rutgers' hopes to make the NCAA tournament as a dark horse took a blow on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights fell to DePaul by a final score of 69-64. It was the second narrow loss in a row for the Knights.

Rutgers led DePaul by five points, 29-24, after the first half, but the Blue Demons outscored them 45-35 in the second half for the win. Helping to sink them in the game was a free throw rate of just 53.3 percent.

Myles Mack led the Scarlet Knights with 22 points off the bench. The team's leading scorer, Eli Carter, was limited to just seven points on the night. Jerome Seagears was the only other player for Rutgers in double digits.

Rutgers lost by just two points last Saturday against Georgetown.

The Scarlet Knights are now 2-3 in their last five game. Tonight's loss puts them at 11-10 on the season, and they now own a 3-5 record in the Big East. They host the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday in their next game.
