Fab Melo Status: Syracuse Basketball Center Potentially Out For 'A While', According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

The Syracuse Orange have already played two games without 7-foot center Fabricio Melo. The Orange split those Big East road games with Notre Dame and Cincinnati. Melo did not make the trip with the team to those games.

Melo was back in practice with the team today. However, he might not be back on the court in game action for "a while" until his academic issues are resolved (via Syracuse.com).

Melo had started every game in the middle for Syracuse before missing the last two games. He's averaged 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds along with 3 blocks this season. His three blocks per game ranks second in the Big East.
