Delone Carter Runs 4.43 40 At Syracuse Pro Day

Stay connected for news and updates

Syracuse running back DeLone Carter had a “monster performance” during the Syracuse Pro Day, according to SB Nation New York’s own Jared Smith. Well, how exactly do you measure a “monster performance?”

Try this way. According to the National Football Post Carter improved his 40-yard dash time from 4.54 at the Combine to 4.43 and 4.46 during the Pro Day. NFP also reported that Carter showcased good skills as a pass receiver.

Carter’s speed has been one of the biggest question marks dogging him throughout the run-up to the NFL Draft [full profile]. Carter is currently viewed as a second-day pick in the draft, coming up this April.

Several other Syracuse players, including outside linebacker Doug Hogue, center Ryan Bartholomew and inside linebacker Derrill Smith, also worked out for scouts during the Pro Day. At this time, no numbers have been reported from workouts done by those draft hopefuls. If anything useful becomes available we will be sure to pass it along.
