USF 3, Syracuse 0: End Of First Quarter

A 28-yard field goal by junior kicker Maikon Bonani has helped the University of South Florida earn an early 3-0, first-quarter lead over Syracuse University in a Big East Conference contest at the Carrier Dome. Bonani capped a six-play, 28-yard drive, which was setup by shanked kick from SU's freshman punter Jonathan Fisher.

So far, the Syracuse offense is, again, off to a slow start. On the Orange's three possessions of the quarter, SU moved the ball a total of 43 yards and compiled just three first downs. Currently, senior running back Antwon Bailey has a team-best 34-rushing yards, while sophomore Jermoe Smith has nine yards on three carries.

Meanwhile, The Bulls' picked up two first downs on their second possession of the game, but had their drive stall when junior quarterback B.J. Daniels had his 3rd-and-5 pass attempt broken up by SU's senior safety Orland Fisher. Currently, Daniles has completed 5-of-6 passes for 35 yards, while also running for 14 yards.

The Bulls will begin the second quarter with a 2nd-and-9 from their 39-yard line.
