Syracuse men's basketball held a Legends Game as part of its Midnight Madness festivities Friday night, helping to draw an estimated 14,000 people to the Carrier Dome. The school's website said it was "perhaps the largest crowd to ever witness a Midnight Madness in Syracuse."

The Legends Game featured John Wallace, Jonny Flynn, Roosevelt Bouie, Lawrence Moten, Hakim Warrick, Gerry McNamara, Andy Rautins, Eric Devendorf and Wesley Johnson, among others. Wallace drilled a three-pointer with 5.8 seconds left to give his team a 44-42 victory, according to the Post-Standard.

"This is the most incredible Midnight Madness ever. In history,'' Wallace said. "We've got 28,000 at Midnight Madness. We've got all the great alumni here. The greatest players and all the legends. The current players. Coach. It's an epic event.''

Johnson, who was the Big East's Player of the Year in 2010 when he led Syracuse to the Sweet 16, considered himself fortunate to be able to play with so many Syracuse stars.

"It was fun, especially being back in this atmosphere,'' Johnson said. "To see all the guys who came before me like Roosevelt Bouie, Lawrence Moten and Hakim Warrick. To be on the court with those guys was really special.''

The current Syracuse players took a backseat to the program's history, but also competed in an intrasquad scrimmage and held a dunk contest. 

Kris Joseph, Scoop Jardine and Brandon Triche led the White Team to a 47-40 victory in the scrimmage. Dion Waiters ousted James Southerland in the dunk contest.

Carmelo Anthony made an appearance, and was introduced to the crowd by coach Jim Boeheim.
