According to David Rahme of the Syracuse Post Standard:

"(Rob) Long, a team captain, notified the Syracuse University sports medicine staff that he had been experiencing headaches for the past several weeks."

"An MRI performed on Thursday revealed the benign tumor that will require imminent surgery. As a result of the impending surgery, Long will not participate in the rest of Syracuse’s practices or the bowl game on Dec. 30. Davde Rahme of the Syracuse Post Standard."

From SUathletics.com:

"The Syracuse University football team, coaches and staff are keeping Rob in their thoughts and prayers for his full recovery."

"Long finishes his Syracuse career ranked second on the school’s career punting average record list (43.3 yards per punt). His career average ranks ninth among active punters in the Football Bowl Subdivision. This season, Long averaged 44.0 yards per punt, which ranks third on Syracuse’s single-season record list."

From everyone at SB Nation New York we wish Long the best and hope Syracuse can bring home a victory in his honor.
